Yep, that about sums up our media officer. A key veteran for the squad, Bridget will begin her third year on SAB leveraging her creativity and inspiring attitude to produce engaging forms of media for campus. This one of a kind, ray of sunshine always manages to put a smile on all of our faces. Safe to say, the SAB office is always a little (a lot) more interesting when she’s around.
Responsible for running out Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and YouTube accounts, Bridget works diligently to not only maintain these forms of social media, but also make them into valuable information sources for the student body. A common misconception with social media is that it’s easy. Just throw up a photo with a catchy tag line and you’ve accomplished your goal. Not quite. Although beautiful content and witty phrases are essential, Bridget must also be conscious of optimal times to post, analyzing what platforms engage campus the best, and map out an entire social media calendar describing what content will be posted throughout the semester.
Managing the schedule of our accounts could be a job in itself. Bridget, however, likes to take her creativity a step further and actually curate content for our accounts as well. You may have seen some of her jawdropping video edits, gut busting social media posts, and unbelievable photo-shops and illustrations. No doubt, she should boast about her social skillz *we’re not sure if that means making friends or gaining followers but we can vouch that she pretty much rocks at both.*
Through all the glitz and glam of being a social media starlet, Bridget has always understood what SAB is all about at its core. In her own words:
“SAB has enhanced my college experience because it engages so many different groups on campus and brings them together. SAB selflessly aims to enrich every student’s college experience through every single event, and in doing so I think it truly makes campus a better place”
Bridget is also a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and the Art honorary. During the summer of 2016, she will be juggling both a campaigning and design internship (that we’re sure she’s knocking out of the park). Additionally, most people can attest to saying she’s one of the toughest Greek Week competitors around. Thankfully, we get to use her competitive fire to our advantage making sure you know all about the events and activities we organize throughout the semester.
We can’t wait to see what this creative mind will bring to the event planning table this year. If you have an idea, shoot her an email. Just make sure it’s 140 character or less!
Here’s to our Social Star, and to a better social life!
